Executive Director
Mr. Rada was appointed by the Board of Directors in 2006 to serve as the agency’s Executive Director. His role is to maintain harmonious working relationship with other Federal, State, and County agencies seeking to improve public safety. Mr. Rada currently serves as the Vice President of The Florida Providers for Traffic Safety and is part of the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of DUI Programs and the United Way of Broward County Commission on Substance Abuse where he is the chair of the Multi-Cultural Hispanic/Latino task force. He is also a members of the state first Task Force to reduce and prevent Underage Drinking serving as a member of Mothers against Drunk Driving (MADD) Diversity chair. Prior to being appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Safety Council, Mr. Rada worked for the United States Department of Homeland Security. He believes our communities need the importance of education and the impact it has on our citizens. Identifying at risk behaviors before they become potential problems is the best way to reduce crime.
Clinical Supervisor
Dr. Botta is a licensed clinical psychologist who has been working in the field for over 20 years. His experience encompasses a diverse population of psychological problems ranging from children of divorcing parents to victims of domestic violence to individuals with substance abuse issues. Dr. Botta brings experience, enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to the position of Clinical Supervisor.
Clinical Supervisor Ii
Adriana Garcia is a Certified Addictions Professional with over 14 years of experience in addiction studies and deviant behavior. She holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and Undergraduate Degree in Forensic Psychology. Her experience includes working at Cornerstone Medial Arts Center Alcohol and Drug Detoxification Programs in the state of New York, the Henderson Mental Health Clinic and Memorial Healthcare Systems Behavioral Health Inpatient Psychiatric Programs in Broward County. Before joining the Broward Dade safety Council, Mrs. Garcia provided Outpatient Adolescent Substance Abuse Prevention in the Broward County Public School System. Her goal is to continue improving public safety by maintaining healthy life’s styles and she is dedicated in educating our community on the dangers of alcohol and other drugs abuse.
Court And Attorney Liason
Paul joined our organization in 1992 with the goal of maintaining a close relationship with the judicial system. He works with judges, attorneys and probation to provide assistance and recommendations regarding specific cases. He currently serves in the Board of Directors of the Partnership for the Homeless in Broward County and the Emerald Society of Broward County which he helped create in the 1990’s. Mr. Russell brings years of experience to our agency including hosting his own Television Show in Ireland during the 1960’s responsible for bringing the Beatles to that country. Prior to joining our agency Paul was the entertainment Director for Royal Caribbean International.
Over 150 Years Of Knowledge Shared DailyOur team of over 16 dedicated instructors has over 150 years of combined experience. They include members of the Judiciary, Law Enforcement Community as well as season Educators.
Carlos Sierra joined the agency in 1992 and is currently our Lead Instructor. He has a strong background in the areas of Substance Abuse and Criminal Justice. Mr. Sierra shares his time as a Substance Abuse counselor/ Case Manager for the Central Area Office of the School Board of Broward County. Other experience included working as a substance abuse counselor at the Staring Place. Mr. Sierra passion is to educate clients to avoid getting a second DUI. He believes education is a key to public safety and it plays an important role in the reduction of traffic deaths.
Sarah Harrington has been in Law Enforcement for over 22 years and has taught for the past 15 years. Officer Harrington is a visiting professor at the Broward Community College Law Enforcement Academy, the Florida Council of Crime and Delinquency and the Florida Gang Investigators conferences. She has been an instructor at the Broward Dade Safety Council for the past three years.
Lynn Anders is a Certified Addictions Professional with over 25 years experience working in the legal, medical, judicial, corrections, and addiction communities. She received her B.S. degree from Nova Southeastern University and her Masters from St. Thomas University. Ms. Anders completed her addictions internship with the Broward Sheriff's DUI and treatment programs. She has served as a Detention Minister for the Arch Diocese of Miami's prison ministry and as a Guardian Ad Litem for the State of Florida's guardian family division. Ms. Anders continues to facilitate the mental health and addictions community as a counselor for a local treatment center. She is committed to provide counseling, guidance and education for human and spiritual development as a life coach, pastoral counselor, DUI Level 1 & II instructor, Evaluator and Special Supervisor.
Raymond L. Gleason has been an instructor and trainer at Broward Dade Safety Council for the past 12 years. He comes to us with a diverse background including 10 years in the Unites States Military. He is a decorated combat Veteran of The Invasion of Panama and Operation Desert Storm. Mr. Gleason left the military with many with a Bronze Star (for valor in combat) and a Purple Heart. His academic background includes a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and a Master Degree in Education. Mr. Gleason is employed by Broward County School Board as a Second Grade teacher and grade chair. We feel very fortunate to have him with us. He is a very important part of our team.
